SCRIPTS AVAILABLE

Here are descriptions of several plays, full-length and one-act, that I will send to anyone who requests them. Most have been published or performed, but I retain all rights for further performance. Although written for the stage, most could be adapted relatively easily for film.

If you would like to receive an electronic copy of one or more, send me a message with the titles you want and your email address.

THE LIGHT IN YOUR HEART

A full-length comedy-mystery-romance, which was described by one scholar as “Shakespearean in scope,” but at the same time is funny and unpretentious.

The action follows Susan in the noir world of a 1950s small city, escaping murderous parents in the company of a high school football coach, a gangster, the mayor’s daughter, and the young man who is infatuated with her. (Cast of 10.)

The play has had a few workshop readings but has yet to be produced. The title is a quotation from the work of Roger Frederick Veale, an imaginary writer.

WHEELS OF JUSTICE – One-Act

With a cast of two, Wheels of Justice presents an intense dramatic confrontation between Charles and Bruce, brothers who as adults have had little to do with each other.

Charles, a pragmatist, has made a great success of the family business, while Bruce made a stab at a career in stand-up comedy but now faces a prison term for vehicular manslaughter.

Charles tries to convince Bruce to fight the charges against him. As they rehash old grievances and reveal a great deal about their lives and their differing values, the brothers begin to express some level of understanding and caring about each other. But when Bruce discovers Charles’s true agenda in wanting him to fight, it confirms his decision to accept his fate in an attempt to rebuild his life.
